Second Hour is a time of teaching and discussion following worship. These times are often a question-and-answer discussion on the sermon with the pastor, but we also have times of more focused teaching and discussion on important themes in the Christian life. All are welcome to stay and participate in the discussion, and there are no bad or unwelcome questions. We believe that honest questions always deserve honest answers.

At Christ the King, our Community Groups are intentional gatherings where we seek to grow in our love for and faithful presence to one another. Community Groups are based geographically for ease of access, but are open to anyone. Our groups all look different—meeting with different frequencies and formats. Presently, we have groups meeting in North Oak Cliff, Duncanville (women only), and Waxahachie. We are always looking to add new groups.

Women 2 Women (W2W) is a ministry to women at Christ the King Church. Its purpose is to connect women to the gospel and to one another. In addition to hosting two Bible studies (one online and one in Duncanville), W2W also provides regular opportunities for women to connect in prayer, fellowship, and service.

At Christ the King, we believe that children are not marginal figures in the church of Christ. Our intentional ministry to children is focused on forming them as disciples of Christ. We desire to see our children anchored in the Gospel. Our Children’s Sunday School program utilizes the Gospel Story Curriculum—a curriculum designed to show children the centrality of Jesus in all of the Scriptures. Sunday School meets during Second Hour.

Our ministry to middle and high school students has two connection points. On Sunday mornings, we have a class for them during our Second Hour teaching time. On alternating Sunday evenings, students also gather for a meal, fellowship, games, and teaching.

At Christ the King, we desire to support and love young families. We are committed to providing safe and loving childcare for children newborn through 5 years old on Sunday mornings. All of our volunteers have undergone background checks and training in abuse prevention. We also seek to accommodate many allergy needs so that our nurseries are usable by all.
